Prepared from a 100% Gokou cultivar in small batches throughout the year for freshness. Ocha & Co. was set up after a trip back to the UK in 2011 and a fruitless search for quality Japanese Green Teas in the local health shops and supermarkets.
There just wasn't any! The aim of the company is to provide the same quality and range of teas you would experience if living in Japan.
We order direct from the tea farms each week to ensure that the teas sent to our customers are extremely fresh with the longest possible best by date.
The teas from this plantation are found in some of the upmarket stores in Japan such as Kinokuniya (see picture) and are exhibited yearly as the Tokyo Biofach Organic Trade show.
Ocha & Co. were selected for the Japanese pavilion at the 2015 Speciality & Fine Food Fair at Olympia in London (see picture). The teas have JAS/ECOCERT certification - first obtained in September 2011- the most recent audit being in September 2015 (recognised in the UK by MAFF).
